Privacy, terms & refunds
The plain-English version of how this site handles your information, what you're agreeing to when you use it, and how purchases and refunds work. Last updated July 5, 2026.
Privacy policy
We collect as little as a working website allows, and here is all of it.
What we collect, and why
- Your email address, if you give it to us. When you subscribe to The Weekly Build or request a free download, your email goes to Kit (our email service), and we use it to send you what you asked for. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link that works.
- Purchase details, if you buy something. Checkout is handled by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. They collect your name, email, and payment details to process the order; we receive your name, email, and order information — never your full card number. Buyers are added to our product-updates list so we can send file updates, and you can unsubscribe from that at any time without affecting your purchase.
- Standard server logs. Our hosting provider, Netlify, keeps routine logs (such as IP addresses and pages requested) for security and operations, as virtually all web hosts do.
What we don't do
We don't sell or rent your information to anyone, and this site doesn't run advertising or analytics trackers. The checkout on our Builder's Kit page is provided by Lemon Squeezy and may use cookies needed to process a purchase — nothing beyond that.
Your choices
Unsubscribe from any email with one click, or write to promptandmortar@gmail.com and we'll remove your information from our list. The third-party services we rely on — Kit (email), Lemon Squeezy (checkout), and Netlify (hosting) — each maintain their own privacy policies.
Purchases, delivery & refunds
Digital products sold on this site — the Builder's Kit, the AI Copy & Conversion Pack, and the bundle of both — are sold through Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. Checkout, payment processing, receipts, and applicable sales tax or VAT are handled by Lemon Squeezy on our behalf. Files are delivered automatically and immediately after purchase, on the confirmation screen and in your email receipt.
Refunds: if a product isn't what you expected, email promptandmortar@gmail.com within 14 days of purchase and we'll refund you — processed back to your original payment method through Lemon Squeezy. No forms, no hoops. Because these are instantly delivered digital files, we simply ask that requests come within that 14-day window.
Terms of use
Prompt & Mortar is an educational resource: free guides plus paid digital downloads that teach non-technical business owners how to build and run simple websites using AI tools. By using the site you agree to the following, which we've kept as short and fair as we can.
- Use the prompts freely. Everything here exists so you can copy the prompts and build your own sites — for yourself or your business. What you build with them is entirely yours.
- Don't republish the content itself. The guides and the paid files are ours; please don't resell, redistribute, or repost them. A purchase of the Builder's Kit or Copy Pack is a license for your own use (personal or your business), not for sharing or resale.
- The content is provided as-is. We test what we publish and date-stamp when it was last verified, but the tools we write about (Claude, GitHub, Netlify, and others) change on their own schedules, and your results depend on your own implementation. Nothing here is professional, legal, or financial advice, and our liability to you is limited to whatever you paid us.
- Third-party tools are theirs. Pricing, features, and terms of any outside service mentioned in the guides belong to those services and can change — always check their current terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA. If we update this page, the date at the top changes.
Affiliation & trademarks
Prompt & Mortar is an independent educational resource. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Anthropic, PBC. Claude is a trademark of Anthropic, PBC. GitHub, Netlify, and other product names are trademarks of their respective owners, used here only to describe the tools the guides teach.
